What ScrumPoi is, in plain terms.
ScrumPoi is a free, real-time planning poker and sprint retrospective tool that runs in a web browser. One person opens a room, shares the link, and the rest of the team joins from any browser without creating an account.
The short answers
What is ScrumPoi?
ScrumPoi is a web-based tool for three agile rituals: planning poker (estimating backlog items as a team), sprint retrospectives, and roadmaps. All run in the browser with no software to install; the first two are real time.
Does ScrumPoi have a roadmap or timeline?
Yes. A roadmap is a set of items on a time axis; you drag a bar to move its dates and drag an edge to change how long it runs, at week, month or quarter zoom. An item can carry a t-shirt size from XS to XXL that sets its duration, and items can be linked so one records that it waits on another. A roadmap can be published to a read-only link that opens without an account. Dependencies are shown but do not automatically reschedule downstream work.
Is ScrumPoi free?
Yes, there is a free plan that costs nothing. The paid Pro plan is $49.90 per month or $499 per year and includes a 14-day trial. Prices are in US dollars.
Do participants need an account?
No. Guests open the session link, type a display name, and take part. Only the person who wants saved history, a permanent workspace or an integration signs in.
Which estimation scales does it support?
Four: Fibonacci, Modified Fibonacci, T-shirt sizes, and powers of two. The facilitator chooses the deck when creating the session, and can cap it at a maximum card so the deck stops where the team stops caring.
Which retrospective templates are included?
Five: Start-Stop-Continue, Sailboat, 4Ls, Mad-Sad-Glad, and KALM. Each opens as a ready-made board.
How does a ScrumPoi retrospective run?
In phases. The team writes cards privately, the facilitator reveals the board, everyone reacts to each card with agree, disagree or not sure, the room discusses, and action items are recorded with an owner.
Does it work with Jira?
Yes, and the integration is read-only. A workspace can connect a Jira Cloud site, import issues into a planning session, and read board history to produce flow analytics. ScrumPoi does not write to Jira issues, so it never changes your board.
What do the Jira analytics measure?
Cycle time and its distribution, work item aging, throughput, cumulative flow, flow efficiency, status transitions, process health, and Monte Carlo forecasting. They are grouped by board or by sprint.
Who is it for?
Remote and hybrid agile teams that run estimation and retrospectives over a call — scrum teams, and anyone who needs a room everyone can join from a link without provisioning seats.
Do people see the same board at the same time?
Yes. Votes, joins, reveals, retro cards and action items travel over a websocket connection, so every open browser is looking at the same state without refreshing.
Can we get the results out afterwards?
Both a session summary and a retro summary can be copied as Markdown or exported as a PDF. Incomplete action items from earlier retrospectives in the same workspace are listed on the retro summary.
What does the paid plan add?
Higher limits — more members and teams per workspace, more participants per session, and more workspaces — plus priority support. The exact numbers are listed in the pricing section on the homepage, which reads them live from the plans API rather than from copy.
Use ScrumPoi if
- You want a planning poker room in under a minute with nothing to install.
- Some of the people estimating are not going to make an account, and should not have to.
- You run retrospectives remotely and want cards written privately before anyone sees them.
- You want cycle time, aging and forecasting read out of Jira without maintaining a spreadsheet.
Look elsewhere if
- You need estimates written back into Jira automatically. ScrumPoi reads from Jira; it does not write to it.
- You want a freeform whiteboard with drag-to-group clustering or dot voting. Retro boards here are fixed columns, and reactions are agree / disagree / not sure rather than a pool of dots.
- You need self-hosting or an on-premise Jira Data Center connection.
